The inn is said to host multiple spirits, and over the years, stories have circulated about a variety of ghostly figures. These include:
A former maid, sometimes called Lizzie, who was allegedly punished in the cellar and is now said to linger in that dark space.
A ghostly highwayman, possibly from the 18th century, who has been glimpsed in the bar area wearing a tricorn hat and old-style riding coat.
A monk-like figure, spotted in the cellar area, believed by some to be connected to the old religious communities or even to the Dissolution period, when monks were driven from their land.
