With sweeping video projections, an original music score, and an immersive experience at the margins of dance and theatre, Formulae and Fairy Tales casts the life of mathematical genius Alan Turing, one of the founders of AI, in a new light.
Built around the Technicolor mythology of Snow White and Seven Dwarfs, one of Turing’s favorite films, this mash-up of a twisted, fairy-tale palette and innovative choreography explores the interplay of Turing’s history-changing accomplishments and how — after helping to crack the German Enigma code during World War II — he was criminally prosecuted for his sexuality.
