Invers are you ready to burn rubber on the dance floor, howl at the moon from the Catlins and get dressed up like you were going to the mall? For the first time in ages Daimon Schwalger, aka The Nomad returns to the capital of the south for a night to remember. This time he’s brought along some of his friends to liven up the party like a B.Man pilsner and a cheese roll. Only 100 tickets up for grabs!
After a quarter century of pushing boundaries and frequencies The Nomad, firmly fits the bill as a pioneer of the electronica music scene in Aotearoa New Zealand. Since his first album release ‘Movement’ in 1998, he has gone on to release nine full length albums, remix albums and various singles while working with some of music’s leading talents.
2023 & 2024 saw the release of The Nomad’s finest work – 3 Infinite, double album releases on vinyl. Featuring on each release is 16 hand-picked tracks celebrating twenty-five years of his musical journey. This retrospective anthology maps the progression of Aotearoa’s electronic music scene, with many then-emerging artists now firmly established stars.
Joining him will be long-time collaborator MC Antsman (Rhombus, Audio Mechanics) the microphone vibe controller who knows how to bring the party to life and lift the energy levels. Dropping words of wisdom like he was feeding birds in Queens Park. Also appearing will be local singer Michelle Lange guesting on two tracks, along with Miss Meow DJing support in her hometown, it’s a family aeair. Other local DJs in the mix will be Davis, Bigman, Excelsa and Nihilism bringing the boom into the room.
The Nomad and MC Antsman will also be taking part in the International Record Store Day event on Saturday during the day at ‘Three & Seven Records’, a chance for them to spin some much loved vinyl, meet the locals and sign some records.
