Join TennGreen Land Conservancy as we partner with the Friends of Beaman to remove invasive plants from Beaman Park!TennGreen Land Conservancy is honored to once again partner with the Friends of Beaman organization. Join us as we remove non-native plant species from Beaman Park. An invasive species is a plant, insect, or animal that establishes strong populations outside its natural range. These invasives outcompete native species for resources, causing a serious imbalance in the ecosystem. It is imperative to remove invasives to best support Tennessee’s native biodiversity.
We will meet at the Beaman Park Nature Center. Volunteers will use loppers and W**d wrenches to remove invasive plants manually. Gloves and all necessary tools will be provided. Prior invasive species management is not required. This event is intended for everyone: first-timers, amateurs, and experts! We will provide you with all the knowledge and tools you need to succeed. Closed-toed shoes are required. It is strongly encouraged to wear jeans or hiking pants rather than leggings or athletic pants. Please bring your own water bottle; we will not provide plastic bottles but will have a water cooler to refill your containers. Light snacks will also be available.
