Join Queer Birders of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Parks Conservation & Land Management (CLM) Team on Sunday, September 7th for an Invasive Plant Removal! We’ll be meeting at the Blue Spruce and Lingo trailheads on Blue Spruce Rd. (photo attached) at 9 a.m. and go until 12 p.m. 🌱This event will focus on removal of invasive Amur honeysuckle as well as learning about the role that native plants play in supporting resident and migratory birds. The CLM team relies on volunteers to support forest restoration efforts. Much of this work involves combatting invasive species that are outcompeting our native flora 🐤
Volunteers should be prepared for the weather (layered clothing) and wear long pants and long sleeves to protect against thorns and possible encounters with poison ivy. Close-toed shoes are required and work gloves, insect repellant, and a refillable water bottle are suggested. There will be work gloves to borrow for those who do not have them 🥾
Registration is required and the link can be found in our below. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to Brendan (he/him), Cincinnati Parks Conservation Volunteer Coordinator at (513) 473-2217 or [email protected]. Looking forward to seeing you there! ☺️
