This workshop is designed for complete beginners as well as those who’ve already started wild swimming but would like more knowledge to extend their adventures safely.
In this full day workshop we'll cover:
The benefits of wild swimming;
Where to swim and the different types of swim locations and experiences;
Common myths and misconceptions about wild swimming;
How to swim safely including how to identify and manage risks;
Environmental considerations of outdoor swimming;
Equipment. What you're likely to need (or not) to enjoy your dip.
This session isn’t about how to swim fast or far, it’s about how to enjoy the water in the way that’s right for you. Whilst there is a structure to the session there will be lots of opportunity to discuss and ask questions within the group.
We'll be based in Grindleford in the central Peak District which is accessible by train from both Manchester and Sheffield. Refreshments and cake included along with neoprene shoes/socks/gloves, tow floats and a write up of everything we'll go through. Wetsuits available to hire.
Workshop cost £85, book direct here https://www.peakswims.co.uk/events/introduction-to-wild-swimming-z6wem-mjt5t-6gwmh-2fpsa-r4nm6-ddc2m-6md99-y3mh8-dk3n3-6a77h-36xaz-y553z-dn34h
As always if you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch on [email protected] and do pass on to anyone you know who might be interested in this session too.
