Introduction to watercolour - sunny skies, sun rise, meadows & mountains
About this Event
Introduction to watercolour - watercolour silhouettes (sunny skies, sun rise, meadows & mountains)
Ever wanted to know how to paint with watercolour & not known where to start?
In this in-person session you'll explore the magic of watercolours! We'll dive into painting mini watercolour scenes; sunny skies, breathtaking sunrises, peaceful meadows, and majestic mountains.
Starting with single colour washes we will then move into varigated washes with 2-3 colours to create a sun rise effect. Perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to unleash their creativity and have fun with watercolours.
*Please note the venue is accessible by stairs only.
Materials
All materials will be provided.
Optional:
If you are looking to build a watercolour kit here are some recommendations which will also be useful in the workshop. Please feel free to bring along anything you have at home along too.
Paper:
My top recommendation is a watercolour paper block - 140lb cotton, cold pressed (also known as NOT) such as Saunders Waterford watercolour paper. The sheets are fixed together with glue around the sides (with a small unglued area so you can remove each sheet with a knife) which means your paper shouldn't buckle and warp. As these are expensive (around £30) I will be bringing some individual sheets of high quality watercolour paper so this is purely optional.
Watercolour brushes:
Large Flat brush (1-2 inches)
Large round brush (size 12 or more)
Medium sized round brush (size 4-6)
Small round, liner or rigger brush (size 1-2)
(brushes will be available to use on the day)
Palette:
Ceramic petal palettes (plastic petal palettes are available during the class).
