About this Event
What will the training cover?
This introductory online workshop will set you up with an understanding of estrangement, the barriers that students face and what support is available for estranged students entering into university. Over the 1.5 hour online session, you will be given information, techniques and actions that your college, educational or youth setting can do to support estranged students in making applications to university.
This CPD has been created in collaboration has been created in collaboration with the Uni Connect Estranged and Kinship Students Partnership.
Who is the training for?
This event is suitable for all Education and Youth Practitioners who are working with students over the age of 16. This includes youth workers, local authorities, teachers, tutors, admissions staff outreach staff, Uni Connect staff, third party organisations who support young people applying to university.
How will this benefit me?
This 1.5 hour online session will provide you information around estrangement, key barriers and challenges for estranged students entering into university and what support is available to overcome these barriers as well as contributing to your continuing professional development.
If you attend, we will share your name, organisation and email address with the CPD Certification Service for the purposes of accreditation and with relevant Uni Connect partnerships (SUN, HOP, HEPPSY & Future U) for the purposes of delivery, monitoring and evaluation.
