Introduction To Spatial Audio Workshop with Hayden Ryan

In addition to Blindside and Liquid Architecture’s ‘Acoustic Sovereignties’ exhibition, show curator, Hayden Ryan, will be holding an in-person spatial audio introduction workshop, focusing on accessible approaches for creatives to engage with immersive audio practices. The 2 hour long workshop will cover topics including:

• Fundamentals of spatial listening & psychoacoustics. 
• Setting up a digital workspace.
• Spatial panning algorithms.
• Sound design approaches.  

By the end of the workshop, you will have the fundamental skills to design an immersive sound piece over headphones, and the ability to translate your piece across to any multi-channel loudspeaker configuration. 

If you are interested in attending, you must be able to bring a laptop and headphones, and download the required (free) software linked below prior to your attendance.

A basic understanding of audio engineering is preferred but not necessary!
