Are you new to River kayaking and looking for a professional to show you the ropes? Then this class is a great fit for you!Class begins at the Aurora Athletic Club, where participants will park and be shuttled up to the class location.
Upon arrival at the park, participants will be given paddles and personal flotation devices, receive dryland instruction and eventually float back to where participants vehicles are parked.
In this relaxed paced class we will cover the basic fundamentals of kayaking such as:
Reading rivers such as eddys and what different ripples mean
Kayak nomenclature
Proper paddling technique
How to properly launch and land a kayak
Basics of water safety
Trip planning
