Introduction to pattern welded blades with Jamie Lundell
About this Event
In this two day class student will explore forging, under power hammers and a hydroelectric press, to create damascus blades. Students will start with a stack of two different steels, 1084 and 15N20, and will learn the techniques to forge weld them into one solid bar. From there, they will shape basic knives. These blades will be heat treated, ground and polished. Etching will bring the pattern out in these blades so all the different layers will be visible. The blades will be finished with a paracord wrap for a handle.
