Introduction to nest box monitoring with WTSWW

Nest box monitoring

This session is an introduction to the BTO nest box monitoring survey scheme and we will train you to become a volunteer for our monitoring scheme. During this workshop with our Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales expert we will:

• Learn about the reproduction cycle of the species of bird which make nest boxes their homes
• Prepare bird boxes for nesting birds to use
• Learn how to safely and respectfully monitor nest boxes

After this training there is an opportunity to participate in our Spring volunteer programme to help us collect data on nesting birds. These results feed back into important data collection.

Due to the senstivity of nesting birds we have a strict no dogs policy for nest box events.

This is an outdoor event so please wear suitable shoes and clothing.

All ages and abilities welcome but please let us know if you need any particular support

Ar ôl yr hyfforddiant hwn bydd cyfle i gymryd rhan yn ein rhaglen wirfoddoli ar gyfer y Gwanwyn i'n helpu i gasglu data ar adar nythu. Bydd y canlyniadau hyn cyfrannu at gasglu data pwysig.

Oherwydd sensitifrwydd adar nythu mae gennym bolisi llym dim cŵn ar gyfer digwyddiadau blychau nythu.

Bydd y digwyddiad hwn yn yr awyr agored, felly gwisgwch esgidiau a dillad addas.
