Introduction to Needle Felting - start with us and continue at home!
About this Event
Join our wonderful tutor (and needle felting enthusiast!) Nicky for a creative and fun day learning how to turn wool into characterful little needle felted creatures!
Using soft carded wool in different colours and special needles with little barbs at the end to catch and mesh together fibres as you prod into the yarn, you will prod away under Nicky's instruction until a little creature begins to emerge! Working on a small foam felting mat with a couple of special needles, you will learn how to create a small 3D form step by step and then how to put detail and life into your creation and give it a little personality all of its own!
Nicky will work with you on a choice of two creatures and you should have time to finish one creature in the class and then start a second creation, which you can take away to finish at home, along with a little pack consisting of enough yarn to finish your second creature, the felting foam mat and a couple of needle felting needles.
The choice of creatures to make in this session are a bunny and a sheep, which are ideal for beginners. Each creature measures approximately 2-3 inches in length.
Skill Level: Suitable for absolute beginners.
Cost: £70 per person (includes all materials and equipment - you will leave the class with a little kit to enable you to continue needle felting at home).
