Introduction to memoir writing - Down memory lane writing workshop
About this Event
Please note: This workshop will be run in the Writers Workshop in Orchard Square, Sheffield, and also online on Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. It is suitable for beginners who are interested in writing about their memories, as well as people who are working on memoirs, poetry or any other form of writing.
Trying to write your life story, or even just drawing on past memories to create poetry or fiction, can be a daunting task. Experienced memoir editor and creative writing tutor Anne Grange will lead you through several creative writing exercises that will take you straight down memory lane as if you were in a time machine!
This session is suitable for everyone of any age, including beginners.
Bring along an object or photograph from a significant time in your life to talk and write about in the workshop.
Using several prompts and exercises intended to spark your creativity, you'll come away with pieces of writing and an idea how to structure your memoir/life writing.
You can then develop these piece of writing further at your leisure.
The session will be fun, interactive, and sensitive to everyone's needs.
Led by writer Anne Grange of The Writers Workshop, an experienced writer, editor and workshop leader.
