This class is intended for those with little or no experience in metal clay. Through a structured series of projects, students will get extensive hands-on experience in the basics of metal clay. Best practices will be taught including rolling, texturing, cutting, shaping, refining, firing, finishing, etc. All necessary tools will be provided by the instructor.

Tuesdays, October 6, 13, 20, 27, and November 3, and 10, 2026

5:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Cost: $325 plus materials

Materials: 10 grams of fine silver metal clay will be provided for the first project, all additional metal clay must be supplied by the student. Students will need to purchase a minimum of 50 grams of (fine silver) lump clay, a 20 gram pot of paste, and a 10 gram syringe. Any brand may be used, however Art Clay may be purchased through the instructor during the class at a discount, estimated total cost $325+/-.

Fingernail Moon Jewelry Studio is in FAVO - Faith Arts Village Orlando - a vintage 1950s era motel that has been converted into artist studios. Located at the north end of downtown Orlando off Colonial Drive near I-4, use the address 718 Highland Ave. to get to the first parking lot. To enter the facility, turn north on Highland from Colonial, there is a stoplight, and enter the second driveway on the left, through a black fence. You will see a sign that says "Park Lake Presbyterian Church, FAVO Art Studios". Proceed through the parking lot to the far right and rear and on through the driveway connecting to a second parking lot. You will see an L-shaped building with colorful doors - that's us! I am studio 237, second from the end upstairs on the right. Look for the moons!
