Introduction to Hand Lettering with Joanie Garcia

By the end of the class, you’ll have the skills to start creating your own hand lettering projects—whether for journals, cards, or creative décor. No prior experience needed; just bring your creativity and curiosity!

All attendees will take home a set of writing utensils, including their own hand-lettering brush pen as well as custom stationary created during class.

Joanie is a life-long learner and lover of hand lettering, starting experimenting with creating beautiful penmanship techniques in her teens. With a career in education, she relishes in moment to teach, especially when that teaching infuses creativity. After six years of teaching private and retail classes, she is excited to bring her classes to Shop Made in DC! Most importantly, don’t forget to ask her in class about her cat, Elle Woods!
