Join us for an exploration of Black Hills geology, where we'll delve into the fascinating landscape of the region and shed some light on the nagging questions you have about how it got here and what makes it so special.
The Black Hills are a unique geological feature, with rock formations that span hundreds of millions of years. We will take a walk back through time as it is represented in the geological record. You’ll also learn how to read this record for yourself and take your knowledge to explore rock formations in the Black Hills on your own or with your family and friends.
Workshop will consist of interactive experiences in the museum, group projects and some interactive, hands-on activities that demonstrate what you’ll be learning in a creative and effective way.
This workshop is designed for the novice geological enthusiast interested in deepening their understanding of the local region and interested in getting out in the Hills to go rock and mineral hunting.
Workshop takes place on Thursday, December 12th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Registration is $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Space is limited, so if you want to save a spot for yourself and a friend, call (605)394-6923 and get on the list today!
