Introduction to Garment Making one day retreat

Step into the beautiful Centennial Lodge , and spend one day slowing down, creating, and connecting. Our Beginner Sewing workshop is designed to feel less like a class and more like a nourishing escape — where you’ll learn new skills, make something with your hands, and enjoy the simple joy of making alongside others.

Throughout the day , you’ll be guided through the foundations of sewing while working on one garments of your choice — tank top , a relaxed top, flowy or straight pants, or a flowing skirt. Our session are is gentle and supportive, giving you plenty of time to explore, ask questions, and enjoy the process.

We’ll pause together for tea, snacks , so the day feels as restorative as it is creative. You’ll leave not only with a handmade garment, but with a sense of calm, inspiration, and the confidence to keep sewing at home.

During the workshop, we will focus on practical skills, including all the essentials to cut and sew accessories and clothess , how to master basic sewing skills like cutting non stretchy fabrics, hemming , creating an elastic waistband , and a facing to finish armholes and necklines , darts for shaping, how to use a commercial pattern .

This retreat is open to beginners 16+ — no experience needed.

Tools, machines, and patterns are all provided (you’re welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you prefer). fabric and trimm are in addition ( we will provide a list of material and providers at registration ) Just bring your curiosity, and a willingness to spend the day making something beautiful. Access to your digital patterns that you can bring home to recreate your garment.
