Introduction to Forrest Yoga: Strengthen your back with integrity
Schedule
Sun Nov 03 2024 at 12:30 pm to 02:30 pm
UTC-06:00Location
Ahimsa Yoga Studio (Oak Park) | Oak Park, IL
Every class encompasses three sections. The first works with micro movements that warm up the supporting muscles and joints and strengthen the core. The second part works with the macro through "up-regulating" poses and a wider range of movements in your core and limbs. The last section will "down-regulate" and calm your whole body so that you can re-enter into the rest of your life with a wider perspective, more clarity, and deeper contentment.
This two-hour workshop will will include explaining the foundations of Forrest Yoga and why they work to allow healing; a brief introduction to the ceremony of a full Forrest experience; breathwork; and a 90 minute physical practice that includes a long warm up and warm down.
Modifications are given to make this class as accessible as possible and all bodies are welcome. Although not done in a heated room, Forrest can be sweaty and detoxifying, so please bring water and a towel.
*Price: $40/$35 for Ahimsa members
About our presenter:
Trisha Kaufman is a lifelong athlete who found yoga after a series of sports injuries caused her to change her thinking around movement. After trying every lineage available locally, she found the alignment and healing power of Forrest Yoga to speak to the athlete in her and she became certified Forrest 200hr in 2018. A few years later, she added a second 200hr in Hatha-Vinyasa because she wanted a more traditional lineage to round out her experience. Trisha is a former personal trainer and is passionate about injury prevention and alignment.
