Hailing from Belfast and now calling Blackpool home, Jonathan's journey into the world of photography began after an early career in East Lancashire's industries. His path led him to Blackpool and The Fylde College, where he cultivated his skills and expertise in professional photography.
Driven by a desire to explore the creative possibilities within the medium, Jonathan transitioned into teaching, making it his current profession. Drawing from his diverse upbringing and experiences, Jonathan's work delves into themes of representation, identity, and social dynamics within the post-industrial landscape of East Lancashire.
Jonathan's fascination with analogue photography extends to the use of early techniques, where he seeks to uncover the rich history and nuances of the medium. Through his teaching, he endeavours to impart this knowledge to aspiring photographers, guiding them on their own journeys of discovery and expression.
