About this Event
Age:18+
Day: Thursdays, 4 classes
Start/End: July 11 - August 1, 2024
Time: 6 - 9 PM
Cost: M: $140 NM: $160
Instructor: Beth Martin
Learn the basics of three foundational fibre arts – crochet, punch needle and macrame – through four beginner-friendly projects. Over four weeks, you’ll make a punch needle coaster, learn to crochet both a granny square and a floral sculpture, and create a hanging macrame plant holder. While suitable for absolute beginners, all four projects can be made more advanced for experienced students.
Adult students are required to supply their own yarn selections, macrame fibre and ring based on a list to be provided to all students ahead of the first day of class. Students have the option to either provide their own punch needle and crochet hook or rent these items from the instructor.
A bout the Instructor:
Beth Martin is a fibre artist with a focus on subverting imagery and objects through the use of yarn, with an emphasis on elevating what is often thought of as a hobby medium. As an instructor, she builds her courses around feminism and accessibility as they relate to craft.
Please note: If courses are purchased at member price, and membership is not active, you will be charged for the membership.
ART SUPPLIES: Adult students must supply their own materials based on course outline or purchased from the instructor if indicated.
ATTIRE: Please dress in clothing that reflects the nature of the activity. Your clothing may get messy from the materials and mediums utilized in your class. Also, closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
ALLERGIES OR SPECIAL NEEDS? Important - Notify us on your registration if the student has an allergy, health concerns, or a learning disability that could impact participation in the class. We would like to remind you that we are a nut-free facility. Please ensure that any food or drink items that you bring into the AGB are free of nut products. We appreciate your cooperation.
