Introduction to Cyanotype Printing with Abbie Mooney

Join illustrator and printmaker Abbie Mooney for an introduction to the art of Cyanotype, or sun-printing, to create your very own prints.
About this Event

In this workshop, you will be guided through the traditional photographic process, combining light-sensitive chemicals which will be applied to paper and exposed to UV light, using your own compositions of foraged and found materials as your stencils to create beautiful cyan prints.

To give your artwork that personal touch, you may wish to bring cuttings from your own garden, lace or similar open materials, and even glass ornaments that can change the light on the paper.

Stencils and materials will be provided for everyone so don’t worry if you don’t wish to bring anything from home.

This workshop is perfect for beginners or those who have tried cyanotype before as you will be equipped with the skills to combine new and familiar techniques to make artwork that is personal to you.

You will leave the workshop with a selection of handmade prints ready to frame or gift, and handy tips to keep you going at home.
