About this Event
This face to face training is for professionals who work in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland who work closely with families from diverse backgrounds with diverse needs who are experiencing young people using abusive and disruptive behaviours within the home.
A full day, interactive training session run by The YP Project (Freeva) with the following aims:
- To gain a greater of understanding of Child/Adolescent to Parent Violence and Abuse (CAPVA).
- To understand key areas around the language and definitions used for CAPVA.
- Understanding the motivations behind CAPVA and how it can be identified.
- To understand Family and Power Dynamics around Domestic Abuse.
- To gain a better understanding of the adolescent brain and childhood trauma.
- To increase knowledge of practical approaches and understand intervention provisions.
The YP Project provides specialised support in Leicester city, Leicestershire and Rutland, to young people aged 10-18 years who use abusive behaviours towards their parents, carers, or other family members, and also to the parents and other family members experiencing the abuse. The project also provides training for organisations and professionals working in the field
