This workshop is desgined for new and continuing metalsmiths with a desire to learn how to sculpt copper sheet metal into small scale three dimensional forms. Using a pitch pot, small chisels and small hammers, students will learn how to transfer their designs from a flat sketch into a wearable or wall hanging work of art. This detail oriented technique highlights the transformational aspect of working with metal. During this short, intensive workshop students will be encouraged to think outside the normal platform of jewelry making and shown processes that can be applied on larger sculptural objects as well. This technique is an inspiring way to connect sculpture and jewelry.Level: Beginner, Ages 16+
