Introduction to Ceramics 8 Week Course

"Discover Your Inner Potter!

Join our 8-week ceramics and pottery course and unleash your creativity! Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this hands-on class will guide you through a variety of techniques, from pinch pots to glazing.

Guided by your tutor, you'll have the added opportunity during this course to test and experiment with more clay and glaze materials along the journey, to inspire and support your final creations!

Course Details:

• Start Date: 8th January 2025
• End Date: 5th March 2025
• Break for Half Term: 19th Feb (No Session)
• All Materials Included: We provide everything you need.

Weekly Breakdown:

• Week one will be dedicated to an introduction to the studio, and participants will learn the basics of pinch pot making and mark making for decoration.
• Week two will focus on slab-building techniques and mark-making for decoration.
• Week three will cover coil-building techniques and using underglazes on the items made in the previous week.
• Week four will be devoted to glaze techniques on previously bisque items.
• Week five will allow participants to use their previously learned skills to develop their own pieces.
• Weeks six will continue to build on what has been learned previously.

(Half Term Break : No Session)

• Week Seven will continue to build on what has been learned previously
• In week eight, participants will finish up the course by completing the glazing of their pieces.

All necessary tools, materials and firings will be provided for the course, and the cost of these is included in the price.
