This hands-on introduction to single Coptic stitch bookbinding is perfect for beginners and provides a solid foundation to inspire future projects. In this workshop, you will create your very own artistic and functional 4” x 6” notebook (approximately 80 pages). The notebook will lay flat when open and will feature an open-end (visible) binding allowing for a clear view of the spine as well as simple cover boards. Supplies are included in the cost of registration. Light refreshments will be served.

Makers at the Museum is a beginner-friendly workshop series hosted by the City of Ottawa Museums and Historic Sites which introduces participants to traditional handicrafts through sessions hosted by skilled artisans.

- The primary language of delivery for this program is English.

Cette initiation pratique à la reliure copte simple, parfaite pour les débutants, constitue une base solide pour inspirer les projets de chacune et chacun. Au cours de cet atelier, vous apprendrez à réaliser votre propre carnet artistique et fonctionnel de 4 po sur 6 po (environ 80 pages). Ce carnet restera bien en place une fois ouvert et arborera une reliure libre (visible) permettant de voir clairement la tranche ainsi que des plats de couverture simples. Le matériel est compris dans le coût de l’inscription. Des rafraîchissements seront servis.
