are you curious about Ayurveda? Why should you take this workshop ?Yoga is a sister science to Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a 5000 year old holistic, body/mind healing system from India. It is based upon understanding the root cause of illness and disease. Ayurveda treats the person on an individual basis depending on their constitution. The healing system restores balance and health, reducing stress, energizing body and mind, improving moods, improving immunity and more. Ayurveda looks at symptoms that lead to disease and reduces or eliminates them to prevent illness.
This Course includes
Introduction to the basic principles of Ayurveda
Understand your own constitution: the elements within you (earth, water, fire, air, ether) and your doshas (Pita, vatta, kapha). What are your dominant elements?
Once the basics have been laid, we will go into more detail to understand the dominant character traits, strengths and weaknesses and the imbalances and associated diseases. This allows you to better understand yourself but also to better understand the functioning of the people around you.
Specific practices of yoga, postures and breathing techniques, will illustrate the theoretical teachings and give you some keys to learn to maintain your own balance.
Sequencing for each dosha and season
Kitchari is an essential part of an Ayurvedic diet. It's traditionally a blend of basmati rice and mung dal, which is a split version of whole mung beans. These two hearty and comforting foods are combined with healing vegetables and lots of spices to create a dish that has balancing properties for all three doshas.
This 6 hour workshop is good for Continued Education for Yoga Alliance
