About this Event

Welcome to the 2025 - Northamptonshire Police Detective Constable Entry Programme opening for applicants this winter.

The Church Rooms, St Andrews Church, Crown Street, Kettering

Have you ever thought about a career as a detective police officer and want to become one in an effecient way?

Join us for refreshment and a light bite. Your detective career journey with Northamptonshire Police starts with an enquiring conversation.

It is thrue, there are few careers that offer the variety of a police constable, and especially that of a detective constable. You will be investigating the most serious crimes; the most serious offenders and those events which cause the most serious harm. Do you have what it takes to become the our future detective?

Come along to our free police discovery event where you will have the opportunity to speak with our teams to find out more.

Our recruiting team and experienced detectives will be available to explain the programme and to help you understand if this is the right programme for you. They wil speak openly and honestly about the role and you will learn about the support available to help you flourish.

We wnt you to invite your family and friends to this event as they are an essential part of the career journey you will be on. Bring your questions too.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW:

The event: This is a drop in event and really informal. We will provide a lite bite and drinks to help you relax and learn. All questions are relevant and out detectives are there to inform you.

Access: The church hall is on the grounds of St Andrews Church. There is free car parking. Both the car park and the church hall is accessed from Crown Street, Kettering. Note Crown Street is a one way street so you need to acces Crown Street from King Street or Regent Street.

Detective Programme: As part of the programme you are trained as a police officer and spend two years delivering front line operational policing. During that development you a prepared for the detective world once your student officer period is completed.
