Intro to xTool F2 ULTRA Fiber laser cutter

About this event

In this 90 minute class we will go over how the xTool F2 Ultra Fiber laser cutter works, what it is capable of and how to safely use this machine to cut and engrave a variety of materials.

After this class you will:

• Know about the machine including its capabilities and limitations

• Know how to safely use this machine

• Learn about its accessories and controls

• Know how to get started in the xTool Studio software

• Receive a test about this class material.

No prior experience needed, (although general laser cutter knowledge is helpful) you can bring your computer and download the free xTool Studio software if you want to be extra prepared or talk about design ideas.

In this course, we will:

1. Learn a little about this machine, what each part is and how it functions

1. Safety for using a class 4 laser

1. Materials you can use and can’t use

1. How to operate the machine and cut/engrave/emboss a design out of different materials.

Hi, I’m Hugh. I’ve been an artist and maker my whole life, I specialize in laser cutting, rapid manufacturing, sign making and screen printing. I'm a classically trained sign maker, I worked making mirrored/gilded signs for 10 years before moving to Colorado. When I’m not at CCM, you can find me in my home shop making crazy decor and weird vending machines or hanging out with my Pup Bubbles.
