Intro to Woodworking at the Collab MakerSpace

The Collab MakerSpace is excited to bring our Intro to Woodworking class as part of our DIY basic workshops.

You will be introduced to various wood working tools in a safe, easy and fun environment. These are the tools that can elevate your art, craft and DIY projects to a whole new level. You will start with the basics of wood types, how to prep your materials, proper safety equipment, and the woodworking basics.

After that short instructional period, we'll get you right into the hands on instructions, teaching by doing with a table saw, band saw, miter saw, drill, and various hand tools. By the end of the class, you'll feel comfortable with the tools, safety and materials needed to get making. Not only that, you'll have completed your first TWO woodworking projects to take home! An awesome mini wine rack and a candle holder will be yours to take home and show off your new skills!

All materials are provided. Please bring long pants, closed toe shoes, and a way to tie your hair up if long. We provide gloves and safety glasses and dust mask, but you are welcome to bring your own. This is a 2 hour class, and you are welcome to bring a beverage or snack.
