Intro to Welding at the Collab Maker Space

The Collab MakerSpace and our head welder Raven are excited to bring our new Intro to Welding class as part of our DIY basic workshops.

Raven will introduce the class to various metal working tools and the different types of welding commonly used in DIY projects. She will teach you what types of metal can be used, how to prep your materials, proper safety equipment, and the welding basics.

After a short instructional period, we'll get you right into the hands on instructions, teaching by doing with our MIG welders. You'll cut, grind and weld, and even get a try with our plasma cutter! By the end of the class, you'll feel comfortable with the tools, safety and materials needed to start your own welding project!

All materials are provided. Please bring long pants, a long sleeve cotton shirt, and a way to tie your hair up if long. We provide gloves, face shields, and other safety equipment. This is a 2 hour class, and you are welcome to bring a beverage or snack.
