Join psychologist and author Dr. Miles Neale for a micro-pilgrimage to Pegulingan Temple in Tampaksiring, Bali, home to a secret and powerful 9th-century Buddhist stupa.
The program begins with offerings led by the temple priest before Miles guides participants through an experiential workshop on Tantra—not to be confused with sexual liberation or the bogus 'laws of attraction,' but as an accelerated method of embodying divinity, compassion, and natural clarity. Together we will circumambulate the stupa, make offerings and prostrations, and recite The Three Principles of the Path, a pithy 14th-century lam rim (gradual path) text that lays the foundation for Tantra: renunciation, altruism, and transcendent wisdom.
Miles will then discuss the historical context in which the Tantras emerged and why they are especially relevant now, at this pivotal moment of civilizational transition. He will outline the three defining features of Buddhist Tantra before leading a guided Tibetan- Following the teaching portion of this workshop we will break for dinner at a local Balinese café. After which we will proceed to Pura Mengening (Pura Mengening dates back to the 11th century during the reign of King Anak Wungsu) for a traditional Balinese Melukat (water purification) followed by a closing prayer and meditation in the upper Candi (Buddhist temple). which dates from the 11th century
