Join the Iowa City Swing Dance club for a beginner-friendly introduction to the Charleston, a lively swing dance! The first two weeks, we will learn how to move around the dance floor on your own and add to your repertoire of fancy footwork. The last two weeks of this series, we will teach partnered Charleston, integrating your solo moves into a partnered dance. These lessons are open to all - regardless of experience. No dance partner is needed.
Beginner Lesson | 7:00 - 7:45 PM
Social Dance & Practice (all levels) | 7:45 - 8:15 PM
Level 2 Lesson | 8:15 - 9:15 PM
Venue: Masonic Lodge (This is down the street from the Iowa City Public Library. There is free parking in the Chauncey parking ramp after 6 p.m.)
Cost: $10 per evening or $5 for students
This series starts on March 6th and ends on March 27th. We recommend attending the entire 4-lesson series because concepts and moves will build on each other.
