In this workshop, we will cover the fundamentals of fencing with a sword and dagger (of the pugnale Bolognese type), starting with how to stand in the guards, how to defend, and how to provoke. The final hour will be dedicated to pressure testing what we have learned.The required equipment is as follows:
- One-handed sword of the arming or "side sword" type (no rapiers, smallswords or backswords).
- Dagger
- Mask
- Fencing jacket or gambeson
- Adequate hand protection
The cost for the workshop is $50, which will go to paying for the space and purchasing new equipment for the school.
