Intro to Stand Up

Ever wanted to try stand-up comedy—or sharpen material you’ve already written? This 6-week stand-up comedy class is designed for beginners and newer comics who want to learn how to write jokes, build a set, and perform with confidence.

Classes meet every Wednesday for 6 weeks starting April 8th and are taught by Ian Stuart and Adam Hatch, two comedians with over 20 years experience who have performed, hosted, and produced comedy shows throughout Maine and New England.

The course covers joke writing, stage presence, timing, and set construction, all in a supportive, low-pressure environment. The class wraps up with a graduation showcase, where students perform live in front of friends and family in a real comedy show setting.

No prior comedy or performance experience is required—just a willingness to get on stage and have fun.
