Intro to Stand Up Comedy Course
About this Event
This is a 5-week intro to stand-up comedy course built for total beginners and anyone who's been "gonna try it someday" for way too long. By the last class, you'll have a few minutes of jokes to try out at Houston's wide-reaching comedy open mic scene and start making a name for yourself.
Spots are limited so the feedback stays personal. Grab one while they last.
Over five Saturdays, you'll learn how to:
- Build a joke from the ground up, so you actually understand the structure underneath what makes a room laugh
- Deliver it, digging into the timing, word choice, and stage presence that turn a fine joke into a great one
- Get better with instant, personalized feedback from your teacher
- Understand the real comedy world, including how open mics, showcases, and the business of comedy actually works
