In this beginner-friendly class, students will learn how to make small baskets using seagrass and other natural fibers. This course will introduce students to the ancient practice of basketry while delving into its history rooted in utility, ecology, and community. Through guided instruction, participants will explore basic techniques, material preparation, and finishing methods while creating a functional and beautiful handmade vessel.
