If you’re hitting festivals, congresses, or visiting other dance communities, you’ve probably noticed… Salsa on 2 and Cuban Son are everywhere!🤯Of course, you can always have your preferences; maybe Salsa on 1 will always be your favorite. However, this doesn’t change the (almost) necessity of knowing at least the basics of Salsa on 2 and Son if you want to integrate more comfortably into different communities and events.
To this end, if your Salsa journey hasn’t yet included on 2 and Son, join me this September for a 4-session Techniques Series to learn these styles from scratch!🎊🎊
What to expect:
- Session 1: understanding and practicing musicality of Cuban Son, relevant instruments, count, body movement and basic steps.
- Session 2: transitioning from Son to on2, musicality, techniques, and understanding some differences between Salsa on1 and on2.
- Session3: practicing basic shine steps on2 (like turns, suziQs, etc.), introducing Son timing partnerwork.
- Session4: practicing essential couplework on2 (basic, cross body leads, right turns).

- Time: 5:00-6:00 PM
- Location: to offer enough room, this bootcamp will take place at Dance Victoria Studios, 2750 Quadra st (Quadra at Hillside).
