During this two-session workshop, participants will learn the basic history, operations, limitations and considerations to account for when making art prints on a Risograph Duplicator. The first session will focus on learning the history & significance of the press and how the machines function. Students will view digital and physical examples of Risograph prints and books. From there students will plan their own project to be completed throughout the remainder of the workshop.Students are encouraged to create their images and color-separations through both traditional and/or digital mediums. Collage material and other traditional mark making tools will be provided, and time will be allotted in the workshop for students to create their images during the course.
Project ideas for this class include a small edition of prints, or a small book project. Students will be encouraged to work with limited color palettes (2-3 color prints).
