Intro to Rhythm (ages 10-17)
About this Event
*NEW* Introduction to Rhythm class, led by teaching artist Avery, will meet at the Art Depot in downtown Hollister on Thursdays from 5:00-6:00PM and is recommended for students ages 10-17.
For a total of ~4 classes a month, to attend the following months student's must re-register*
Introduction to Rhythm class teaches the core building blocks of musical timing through active, hands-on drumming. Students will build a rock-solid internal pulse and beginner musical skills using practice drum pads. This high-energy class focuses on foundational drumming techniques to help students feel, and play music accurately. No prior musical experience is required.
- Beat Keeping: Master the ability to find and maintain a steady underlying pulse.
- Drum Pad Practice: Develop hand coordination, stick control, and basic drumming patterns.
- Ensemble Playing: Practice timing together as a group to build collective rhythm skills.

- Materials: All art materials provided (students welcome to bring their own)
Registration for this class is $65/per student/per month. Siblings qualify for a $10 discount. Registration must be renewed prior to the start of each monthly session.
