Join us with local artist, Jocelyn Dorigatti, to learn the basics of oil painting in a 4-week series. Thurs. from 6-8 pm starting March 19.About this Event
This is a 4-week series! Be sure to get tickets for each session!
At the end of the series you'll go home with a finished painting. Ticket price includes materials needed to participate.
Week 1 - Simple Still Life Intro - 3/19
- Introduction, go over materials
- Learn about lights, darks, and basic shapes
- Practice brush strokes and moving the paint around
Week 2 - Underpainting - 3/26
*Bring a personal reference photo printed out
- Create the underpainting
- Focus on shapes and values
Week 3 - Local Color - 4/2
- Color mixing
- Color blocking
- Going from dark to light
Week 4 - Finished Painting - 4/9
- Edges
- Blending vs leaving brush marks
- Where to add details
- Refine the shapes
- Final details and highlights
