Intro to Gouache Painting: Flowers at Swan Island Dahlias
About this Event
Intro to Gouache Painting: Flowers in Mini Sketchbook
Come and learn about gouache! This is a hands-on class featuring techniques of painting with what the instructor likes to call "the cousin of watercolor," because you can treat it like watercolor or create opaque layers similar to acrylic.
Some techniques learned will be how to layer, mix colors, and brush handling.
You will come away from class with your own personal painting kit that will include: M Graham gouache paints in a mini palette, paint brushes, container for water, passport sized sketchbook, and more!
At the end of class, you will be encouraged to try your hand at plein air painting (painting outside among the flowers)!
This class is perfect for a beginner/intermediate artist who wants to experiment with this medium.
About the Artist: Elizabeth is a long time watercolor artist who wants to share her love of watercolor painting and new found enjoyment of gouache. Students work with high quality materials so that everyone will learn if they enjoy watercolor painting with the best possible supplies.
Each participant will leave with their personal painting kit
All supplies are included in the class fee of $65.00
