Intro to Fashion Illustration & Design for Youth

In this workshop youth will get an introduction to fashion illustration and design, and be able to get the feeling of a sewing machine to start your fashion journey. No prior drawing or sewing experience necessary!

Ages: 12-17

What You'll Learn

Students will learn how to get started with fashion design including moodboarding, fashion illustration, and how to sew using your machine!

What You'll Take Home

Skills in fashion illustration, moodboarding, and how to sew on a machine.

What to Bring

• Paper notepad or notebook for drawing
• Lunch & Water Bottle

About Your Instructor

Hello, my name is Maya Coleman! I am an up and coming zero-waste fashion designer born and raised here in the Bay Area. I focus on sustainability in my practice like upcycling, using dead stock fabric and materials, and zero-waste pattern making. I'm very passionate about elevated zero-waste design as it's very much needed today, and hope my efforts will help push it into the mainstream.
