Intro to Disc Dog — Catch the Fun! 🥏Ready to unleash your dog’s inner athlete and strengthen your bond through play? Join us for Intro to Disc Dog — a beginner-friendly clinic where you and your dog will get started in one of the most exciting canine sports out there!
📍 Hosted by Greensburg Bed & Biscuit and taught by Di of Snorkle’s Way Adaptive Dog Training/Camp Hill and Howl Dog Sports
🐶 No experience? No problem! This basic clinic will kick off with a quick introduction to the world of disc dog, including the different types of discs used, the different types of games and what makes the sport so engaging for both dogs and handlers.
We’ll start without the dogs on the field so you can learn some simple, effective throwing techniques first — it’s all about setting you and your dog up for success! Once you’ve got a feel for the disc, we’ll bring in the dogs and start building those fun foundational skills together.
What You’ll Learn:
✅ How to select the right disc for your dog
✅ Proper throwing technique to set up great catches
✅ Engagement games to build your dog’s motivation
✅ Step-by-step intro to catching, retrieving, and playing safely
✅ Tips on turning backyard play into a solid disc dog foundation
📌 Please note: Dogs will be worked individually so they can focus and learn at their own pace. When not working, dogs will need to be safely secured in your car, or crated in the training building.
💡 Open to all breeds and sizes! Dogs should be physically sound and motivated by toys, play, or food.
