Bring a device of your choice to animate your drawings!
Calling all storytellers, doodlers, and future designers! This exciting intro course explores the creative world of comics, graphic novels, and digital design integration through free software such as Canva, for students who elect to bring their device along. Students will learn how to develop characters, plan storyboards, and bring their ideas to life through panel layout, speech bubbles, and visual storytelling techniques…using hand drawn or digital elements! We will also complete a simple animation using the website Wick Editor during the second half of class.
Whether you love superheroes, slice-of-life stories, or fantasy adventures, this class helps you turn your ideas into illustrated narratives—one panel at a time! Perfect for aspiring artists, writers, and digital creators. No prior experience needed—just your imagination and a love for visual stories.
