Led by Dr. Geoff Barstow. Throughout this 5-week series, the focus will be on Buddhism as it was traditionally practiced in Asia, but always with an eye towards what the religion can contribute to modern lives in the contemporary US and Contemporary Issues such as gender & the mindfulness movement. Weekly discussion topics will include the Buddha’s life story, basic Buddhist philosophy, different types of meditation, varieties of Buddhism around the world, and some contemporary issues and controversies.
