Performance Class (Ages 8–12) | ✨ A perfect first step into the world of ballet!
Join us on **Wednesdays from 5:45–6:45 PM** at our host studio, **Dance.tech** (1101 N. Main St., Blacksburg) for a fun, welcoming ballet class designed specifically for dancers **ages 8–12** with little or no previous dance experience.
This low-commitment, low-cost program through **Blacksburg Ballet** gives students the opportunity to build confidence, learn ballet fundamentals, and experience the excitement of performing—all in a supportive and encouraging environment.
2026–2027 Sessions
🩰 Session 1 | August 19 – October 7
**Intro to Ballet** – Learn basic ballet positions, terminology, coordination, musicality, and movement skills in a fun, encouraging environment.
🎄 Session 2 | October 14 – December 9
**Nutcracker Preparation** – Continue developing ballet technique while preparing to perform in **The Nutcracker**.
🌸 Session 3 | January 20 – March 10
**Intro to Ballet** – Build on foundational ballet skills and confidence through technique and creative movement.
🎭 Session 4 | March 17 – May 12
**Spring Performance Preparation** – Apply everything you've learned while preparing for a spring performance.
Cost
Tuition: FREE
Performance Fee: $50.00 for Nutcracker (includes costume rental, technical rehearsal, dress rehearsal, and digital media)
Performance tickets are purchased separately and are sold directly through the Center for the Arts.
Whether your child is trying ballet for the very first time or returning after time away, this class is the perfect opportunity to discover a love for dance in a welcoming, encouraging environment.
