Intro Pop Surrealism/ 5 Sessions/ Starts September 8
About this Event
Learn how to stretch your imagination and create interesting compositions, how to mix and blend paint colors, and different ways to make captivating artwork. Both Oil and Acrylic painting techniques will be taught. This class meets 5 times. Each session is 3 hours.
Some of the amazing artists we will reference are Mark Ryden, Marion Peck, Dilka_bear, and Todd Schorr.
What will you learn?:
- Learn some art history and the influences of historical art while creating your very own unique drawings and paintings.
- Types of art brushes, brushwork, and blending techniques.
- Modeling for realistic looks and glazing techniques.
- How to combine different visual ideas into amazing compositions.
- Edge control- and why it is so important.
- How to create inspiring compositions and more!
Small classes for better learning experiences in a boutique creative space.

Leslie’s Teaching Creds: taught Painting: Oil, Acrylic, and Encaustic Classes at U.T. Austin, Contemporary Life Drawing and Painting, Dynamic Mixed Media, and Encaustic Art for The Austin Museum of Art’s Art School at Laguna Gloria, and founded and hosted Austin Full Monty Open Painting and Drawing Sessions for the Austin Visual Arts Association. Leslie holds a B.F.A. in Fine Arts from The University of Texas at Austin and an A.A.S. in Video Game Art from A.C.C.
