INTRO INTO OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING

Join James for 4 hours of coaching and learn how to Snatch and Clean & Jerk.
James is an experienced Personal Trainer based out of Gymbox Farringdon and specialises in Strength & Conditioning and technical lifting.
James is known for his attention to detail and striving for perfection when performing exercises. His approach to training aims to simplify exercises/movements to create a better understanding and cohesion between mind and body.
James is passionate about three separate disciplines of training - Bodybuilding, Powerlifting and Olympic Weightlifting.
His ability to build strong relationships with his clients and other fitness professionals is one of his biggest strengths. James hopes to continue his development and help more people change their life and their ideas of weight training
SESSION 1
“SNATCH & SQUAT VARIATIONS”
Monday 7th October 2024
1430hrs to 1630hrs
This session covers;
- The importance of warm up and preparation
- The importance of posterior chain recruitment and weight distribution
- The mobility needed to squat with 3 loading positions (overhead / front / back squats)
- The overhead squat + top down Snatch movement
SESSION 2
“CLEAN & JERK”
Monday 14th Ocotber 2024
1430hrs to 1630hrs
This session covers;
- The importance of learning how to squat efficiently
- Front squat + top down Clean movement
- The importance of leg drive for the Push Press + Jerk
- Split Jerk positioning / Power Jerk depending on ability/mobility
- Hang Clean + Jerk/ full Clean + Jerk
