About this Event
We're back with this year's "Our Voices" showcase! For those who have joined us before, you know how moving this beautiful community event is for audiences and InToto Artists alike.InToto is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering artists impacted by homelessness, mental health challenges, and disabilities through the arts. Artists are provided opportunities for expression, connection, and healing through weekly art, writing, movement, theater, and music classes at no charge.
InToto offers year-around multidisciplinary arts classes to clients of their partnering organizations: Firehouse Shelter for men, Pathways Home shelter for women and children, Faith Chapel Care Center which serves the homeless community, The 1920 Club for people in recovery from mental health challenges, and the Birmingham Veterans Association. The event will feature visual art and performances created by talented individuals from InToto’s programs. This community showcase will highlight the resilience, creativity, and unique perspectives of our artists, offering them a platform to share their stories with the community.
Event Highlights:Exhibition of Visual Arts: A curated collection of paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures by artists who have experienced homelessness and other challenges will be available for purchase.
Performances: Live music, spoken word, movement and theatrical performances by individuals with lived experience of mental health issues and disabilities.
